Description: The Alafia River State Park trail is one of the most favored off-road biking choices in Florida. Skilled riders are traveling from all over the state to ride this collection of scary drops, off-camber hillside ledges, high speed banked turns and intimidating ridge top trails. This single-track is built on the rugged terrain of what was once a phosphate mining site. Currently there are about 20 miles of trails at Alafia.
Directions: From Tampa: take I-75 South, exit #246 Apollo Beach, travel east approximately one mile to 301, turn south. Travel approximately one mile to CR-672, turn east and continue approximately 11 miles until it dead-ends at SR-39. Turn north and travel 1.5 miles to Alafia River State Park entrance.
From Orlando: take I-4 West, exit #13 Plant City, travel south on SR-39 approximately 20 miles. Alafia River State Park entrance on east side of road.
From Sarasota: take I-75 North, exit #240 Sun City Center, travel east approximately 13 miles on CR-674. Turn north on SR-39, Alafia River State Park entrance is approximately 1.5 miles on east side of road.
Fees: $5 per vehicle with 2-8 occupants - $4 single occupant vehicle/motorcycle - $2 pedestrians/bicyclists
Hours: The park is open from 8:00 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year.
